Day 38 (Executive Suite)

Today is 65 and overcast with light rain predicted throughout the day. It doesn’t matter because everyday looks great from this Suite! Every room has large sliding glass doors so you always have a view when you walk between rooms.

Breakfast was delicious again with so many choices. They rotate donuts and cake everyday and today was supposed to be cake day. I was disappointed to find donuts again. They were my favorite before I tried the cake. Now I have to wait until tomorrow. If not I plan on throwing around my Executive weight to get cake back on the menu.

We returned from breakfast to find that our key didn’t work. Hmm, maybe they are having second thoughts? I left Lori at the door to the room and headed to the reception desk for new keys. The lady asked how are stay was and my reply was “how can I complain about a room like that?” She just smiled. I then asked what the difference was between our room and the Presidential Suite. She started to try and describe it and then stopped and said “let me see if it is available”. At first I thought she was going to upgrade us again. Then she said “it’s open, do you want to see it?”Heck yea, let’s go! We stopped on the 5th floor and picked up Lori. She opened the door to the Presidential Suite which is even bigger. This room had a 10 seat conference table, the main bedroom was even bigger plus it had a large walk in closet. The bathroom was almost twice the size of ours and it had a small kitchen. Then she said that Trump may be staying in this room when he comes to Dubrovnik in January. This hotel is one of the hotels that he has to choose from.

We returned to our lowly dump of a room where we tried to enjoy the view. It is really hard to complain about a room like this even after seeing the best room in the hotel. We spent the rest of the day talking to our kids and catching up with them.

Lori made a trip to the spa to stretch her back and schedule a massage for tomorrow. She is going with the Tai Spider Monkey that I had the other day. I scheduled one right after her with the same girl. Apparently there is another level of massage above the deep tissue. The lady at the desk said it is a Tai massage where they pull you apart and put you back together. I will admit that I am a little scared but intrigued. I will have to see how I feel after breakfast. I don’t want anything embarrassing to happen. I have a few more questions that need answering before I pull the trigger on that one.

We went down to the bar and had Chicken Caesar Salad and spit a pizza. It is the only food that we have that is halfway decent. We called it a night early and just watched TV in our living room before making the long trek across the suite to bed. Living the dream!
