Today is rainy and looks to be a lazy day. Staying in Rovinj has really helped to reset us as we were getting tired. It might just be a TV day. We talked yesterday about just getting a pizza a bringing it back to the apartment. Since it is wet outside I suspect that the smooth cobblestones may be slippery so Lori may be confined to the apartment.
About 3pm the weather cleared up and the cobblestones dried. People started touring around the city and we could hear them outside. We decided to go to our favorite cafe in Old Town for Lori’s coffee vice and a glass of wine. We decided to drive to Krk island tomorrow to continue our tour of Croatia. It looks like it will be a nice drive down the coast. After our coffee and wine we walked to Vino Vignetto where we did the wine tasting a couple days ago. It has a really nice atmosphere and is becoming well known because it seems to always be packed. We came in and saw that the table that we have been sitting at the past 3 days was open. We sat down and then they informed us that the table was reserved at 5pm but we are more than welcome to stay. Now that is the kind of service that I would expect. We were lucky to get there when we did because they had to turn people away that arrived after us. This is a small, hard to find place with about 5 tables in it. We enjoy talking to the owners (from the UK) and Lori even bought one of their sweat shirts. We got some restaurant recommendations and headed to dinner.
Since it is Sunday, most places are closed. Our Bookeria place was also closed which we were really looking forward to. We stopped by a few other places that our UK friends recommended but they were also closed. We finally settled on a restaurant that we visited on the first day. The Puntulina restaurant and wine bar. Awesome view, terrible calamari, old wine. I was not excited at all! We found a seat with a really nice view of the sunset and gave it another try. Lori had the sliced Tuna steak with vegetables and I had the Sea Bass fillets. Both were excellent! What a great way to end our stay here in Rovinj.
We walked back to our apartment which is about 100 ft away and called it a night. We have a 2 hour drive tomorrow and Bojan is picking us up at 9:50am.
